St Vincent’s Loui’s Van - Burnie, Tasmania

Delivering Warmth on Tasmania’s North West Coast

As part of our ongoing commitment to supporting people doing it tough across Australia, 1for1.clUb recently delivered 50 pairs of premium Australian Merino wool socks to the North West Coast outreach service operated by St Vincent de Paul Society Tasmania through its Louie’s Van program.

Louie’s Van is a grassroots outreach service that operates across Tasmania, providing hot meals, essential supplies, and — just as importantly — human connection to people experiencing homelessness, social isolation, or financial hardship. The North West service supports communities including Burnie, Devonport, and Ulverstone, reaching individuals who may not have access to traditional services or secure housing.

The socks delivered through this visit were matching pairs included in recent 1for1.clUb purchases, allocated specifically for distribution through trusted giving partner organisations like Louie’s Van.

Why socks?

Socks are consistently one of the most requested items by shelters and outreach services — yet they’re rarely available in the form people actually need. Clean, warm socks aren’t just about comfort; they’re a health essential. In Tasmania’s cold, wet winters, high-quality Merino socks help keep feet dry, reduce blistering, and offer a sense of dignity to people sleeping rough or living in insecure housing.

Each pair delivered through Louie’s Van is made from iconic Australian Merino wool, chosen for its natural warmth, breathability, and odour resistance. Designed for long days on the move and limited access to washing facilities, these socks are built to last — both for outdoor adventures and real-life challenges.

How the 1for1.clUb model works

At 1for1.clUb, impact is built directly into our products. Every sock purchase is designed as an Impact Pack, which includes one pair delivered to the customer and a second, identical pair delivered to a giving partner organisation for distribution to someone experiencing crisis.

By working closely with frontline organisations like St Vincent de Paul Society Tasmania, we ensure the matching pairs included in our products are delivered efficiently, respectfully, and based on real community need.

Thank you for making it possible

This delivery to Louie’s Van on Tasmania’s North West Coast reflects the collective impact of our customers and community. Every purchase helps ensure essential items reach people who need them most — extending warmth, comfort, and dignity during tough times.

Thanks for being part of the 1for1.clUb.
